There are many compelling reasons to visit Miami during the winter. With warm weather all year long, it is a popular location during the winter months for those who live on the East Coast and want to escape the cold.

A wintertime visit to Miami calls for going on as many local tours as possible. While sightseeing bus tours are popular among visitors, so are seaplane and segway tours. Other great choices include tours of the city’s history, fashion, and cultural attractions.

Boat tours are also a popular activity in Miami, even during the winter. Choices include speedboats, duck boats, glass-bottom boats, and tours that combine more than one of these choices. Boat trips may include views of Star Island, Monument Island, Fisher Island, Biscayne Bay, and South Beach.

Those who want to take to the sky will enjoy the city’s Helicopter Tours. This is a great way to see stingrays and dolphins, as well as the coastline of Miami, which can be a breathtaking sight on a clear day.

Another noteworthy aspect of Miami worth exploring is its diverse cuisine. Many Caribbean and Latin restaurants can be found in the city. Some of the most widely served dishes include fried snapper, stone crabs, ceviche, the Cuban sandwich, and Key Lime pie. The city is also a hotspot for fish dishes, including Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, and Amberjack. Some of the most popular restaurants serving these fishes include Captain Jim’s Seafood, Garcia’s Seafood Grille & Fish Market, and Joe’s Stone Crab, among others.

Those that aren’t content simply to dine on fish have the option of going out to catch it on their own. The waters of Miami are full of Tuna, Tarpon, Shark, Marlin, and Grouper, though not everything is in season at the same time.

Miami is also synonymous with the Florida Everglades. Spanning 1.5 million acres there is plenty to see and do. Everglades National Park may be best known for its subtropical wilderness. While in the Everglades it is not unusual to spot Bald Eagles, Wild Turkeys, Florida Panthers, Sea Turtles, Manatees, and American Alligators and Crocodiles. Many visitors choose to explore the Everglades on an airboat tour.

These are all the must-do activities when visiting Miami.
